I couldn’t have been more excited to have the chance to photograph these precious little 2 year old twins.  Mom was having these pictures taken to give to her husband as a special father’s day surprise (so sweet)!  When we arrived mom said the kids were a little shy, so we sat on the floor and played with them…..after about 5 minutes we were best buds.  We ran in the yard, swang in the swing, and had playtime indoors afterwards to cool off.   My sweet husband came along to help out and these kids were so sweet he actually said (and I quote) “These kids are so cute they make MY uterus ache.”  Ha! Ha!

Thanks so much to the Pearce Family for having me come into your home.  I hope your husband enjoyed his father’s day gift!

About a month or so ago I met fellow photographer Steven Skelton at a mixer at Zack Arias‘s studio.  Since meeting we have kept in touch, chatted on Facebook, followed each other’s work, and now have had the chance to shoot together!  Steven put together a strobist group in Athens, Georgia (Go Dawgs) and they had their first meeting at the Oneta Building on the outskirts of town.  Strobist style shooting just basically means shooting with off camera flash and can give you some really cool effects.  Most of these shots were done with my 580EXII flash and a 60 inch umbrella to soften the light.

Thanks so much to my dear friend Renee for joining us as a model……she was a total trooper.  She’s probably feeling like she has whiplash from a car crash after we made her flip her hair over about 15 times to get this shot…….

I have so much fun shooting with this group.  For those of you in the Atlanta area it is well worth the drive to shoot with the South Atlanta Flickr group.  Props to Julie Harnage and Jason Morrison for always organizing professional models and fantastic make up artists to make the shoot extra special.

This is the second time I’ve had the opportunity to work with Reggie Carson (aka the Stylistocrat).   Stylistocrat by R&R is a lifestyle men’s clothing brand that specializes in showing Gentlemen the proper ways to dress. Reggie, and business partner Robert, have years of experience in men’s fashion… look for the next chapter and future in Style from these two Stylistocrats. When I first started getting into photography I had no idea how much of my life would be devoted to learning more about this craft. I will never know it all. I’ll be in the nursing home with a camera strapped to my walker reading up on the latest improvements in photography and editing. Hopefully, Jodi Friedman of MCP Actions will still be supplying me with this kind of information.  Countless hours go to editing photo sessions and Jodi just keeps making it easier and easier.  Autoloader is a new program that could shave hours off of my editing time!   I’m so glad she featured it in her blog!

Jodi also puts together some AMAZING actions.  They have literally become part of my daily workflow when editing.  I love her “Eye Doctor” action to sharpen eyes and her “Touch of Lightness” and “Touch of Darkness”.  If you are a photographer and need a quick something to punch up your photos check out her actions here (be sure to click on “Try Me” to download her free actions.  Thanks to Jodi for sharing so much valuable information!

Could this kid BE ANY CUTER???  Yesterday I went to take some pictures of my friend’s 6 month old boy Cade.  He was an absolute trooper through the entire session.  I’ve just started editing, but wanted to send you a sneak peek!  More to come soon!

This kid is allllllll boy.  Meet sweet Bryce!  We had a visit to the Freedom Park here in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago and had a blast.  His mother brought all his toys, but the thing he loved the most was the work crew and trucks we saw in Freedom Park.  He was mesmerized!

Bryce was so fun to shoot.  While I was sitting in the grass to shoot he would just run over to me and give me hugs (just make me want to melt)!  Shoot….hug…..shoot….hug…….not bad for a day’s work.  : )  Enjoy the pictures below of Bryce.
