A while ago I got a call from good friend and previous client, Kandi Mullen at Reiki 4 WellBeing.  Kandi is a reiki master and runs a reiki studio in midtown Atlanta.  In February’s issue of  Simply Buckhead, Kandi is being featured in an article regarding alternative forms of therapy.  If you would like to read the article click HERE and see page 42.

Curious about Reiki?  I was!  So, I went to see Kandi at Reiki 4 WellBeing and had a session.  You know that deep relaxation you get at the end of a good massage?  When you just wish you could stay on the table and take a nap for the next few hours?  Bingo.

I talked to Kandi quite a bit about her practice and must say it’s quite intriguing.  She told me that reiki promotes deep relaxation and restores physical, emotional, spiritual and mental imbalances to enhance the body’s natural healing response to maintain optimal health and well-being. She also told me that reiki works on all levels; it focuses on the whole body and promotes balance in mind, body and spirit, similar to yoga and meditation. A Reiki treatment can also help to relieve physical and emotional pain and improve sleep and fatigue. To learn more about Reiki or to schedule a Reiki treatment visit www.reiki4wellbeing.com.

Atlanta Midtown Help Portrait Final Stats:

46 killer volunteers

52 families

139 portraits

It’s a wrap Atlanta.  Everyone’s generosity, time, committment, and love produced a heartwarming event which brought smiles to the faces of many that really needed something to smile about this time of year.  There were some GORGEOUS families that were DECKED OUT in their best holiday outfits yesterday.  You made us feel really special and honored to have the chance to take YOUR portraits.

Thanks so much to the volunteers that made yesterday run so smoothly.  You processed pictures, lugged your photography gear through the freezing rain, and shook the hell outta some stuffed animals to make a LOT of  babies smile.  This would not have been possible without each and every one of you.  Check out a link of said stuffed animal shaking here (courtesy of Julie Harnage Photography)…..

Also- Thanks to Families First for partnering with us, scheduling the families for their portraits, and allowing us to use their Midtown offices to host the very first Help Portrait in midtown Atlanta.  Their dedicated staff made this so easy to plan and coordinate.

Be sure to check out tonight’s CBS evening news and CNNs stories (airing at 6pm EST) tonight about some of the other Help Portrait events around the country.

P.S.  If you want to check out some of the behind the scenes pictures you can check them out here.

P.S.S.  I will not be posting pictures of any of the families from yesterday to protect their privacy.  Just know they looked fabulous.  Thanks for understanding.  : )

P.S.S.S.  I will, however, include a funny shot of some of our volunteers!
